ADOPTIONS
From time to time our shelter takes in dogs and cats that would
make great companions for some families or singles. We encourage
people looking for a companion animal to consider adopting from
a shelter first. Sulphur Animal Control also works with local
breed rescues. Please remember to research the pet you would
like to adopt. No surprises when the cute puppy turns into a 120
LB Great Pyrenees with skin allergies.
Adoption fees
include: all shots (puppies 1st set), heartworm
test, worming, spay or neuter, rabies vaccinations and general
health checkup. The fees at first seem high, but if you contact
a veterinarian you will find that the fees are inexpensive. Plus
you save a life and receive unconditional love from your new
friend.
To adopt please

RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Sulphur Animal Control encourages people to have a
companion animal; pets are a lot of fun, but with owning a pet
comes a lot of responsibilities. Being a responsible pet owner
starts with making sure your pet does not become a nuisance to
your neighborhood. The City has several ordinances that govern
animals. Dogs and cats must not be allowed to roam at will in
the city. Any animal not restrained in some form or fashion is
considered at large. If you have any questions about the city
ordinances, call our office.
Sulphur impounds dozens of stray dogs and cats per week, if your
pet is missing please call and let us know, we may have picked
it up in the city.
There is a $50.00 fee to pay when you reclaim your pet. This fee is for
impounding and boarding your pet at the shelter. There is also a
fee to pay if your pets' rabies vaccination is not up to date.
